stumbling into creativity

Buttoned cowl scarf

I have been seriously digging Jane Richmond‘s knitting patterns lately!  She was the same gal who wrote the pattern for the Jane hat, and now I’ve gone and knitted myself up one of her lovely cowl scarves!  Specifically, this was done following her Nicholas pattern (free on Ravelry).

The only thing I changed about this pattern was I knit it with a single strand of super chunky weight yarn (rather than doubling up on a worsted-weight yarn as the pattern calls for). The yarn wants to bunch up a bit from side to side, so I think I’ll take Anna‘s awesome advice and block this one a bit (along with my hat) so it’s wider. 🙂
